Grandpa & Grandma's Visit
A couple of weeks ago, my parents came to visit us from Oregon. They braved the unpredictable spring weather of the high country and made it through the sun and beautiful weather, wind, snow and road closures. Whew! We were thankful for God's protection and getting them here safely. Lori was very excited to see them!
So fun- bouncing on Grandma's knee!
Posing so sweet
Helping in the kitchen

We celebrated both Lori's & my birthday on the 29th. I tried my hand at piecing a cake (or two) together. :)
"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you!"

Who's idea was the black frosting anyway!?!

Opening presents- this time she was more fascinated by the ribbons than the paper.
We had a great visit and look forward to seeing Grandma and Grandpa again!

Lori's First Birthday!
May 7, 2009

This time I made carrot cupcakes with white cream cheese frosting. Yum! Lori tried to eat all of the frosting off of the top first.
Also, please note Lori's very first pair of pigtails- no easy task!
With a little encouragement, she balanced the frosting out with the cake
(a little cake for later)
Our friends, the Ennists came over to join in the festivities
Daddy gave a hand with the important task of opening the presents

Lori spotted my old bike and wanted to take it for a test drive!

It's been an amazing year with our little girl and we're looking forward to all the exciting changes during her second year. The Lord has really blessed us with Lori and we hope to meet up to the challenge of training her up in His ways.

Hurray! Lori is one year old - I loved your cakes, Jaime, you are so talented! It looks like you had a great visit with your parents and Lori's piggy tales are so cute! May this next year be even better than this first one with your little one! : )
