Tipple Trail

Saturday was a great adventure for the BMW (burly mountain women as my husband fondly refers to us) of Laramie Valley Chapel. Our brave leader, Treva (aka Moses) led us forth into the wilderness of the Snowy Range (about 45 miles west of Laramie). Our mission: conquer the Tipple Trail. We had quite a challenging time, laughing and slipping our way through the many, many snow drifts. We left the trail (well you couldn't really even see a trail) but picked up another one (French Creek Trail) by the markers on the trees and found our way across two little rivers and back to the glorious site of the Subaru (which meant lunch- Thank you Treva!).

First Lesson: getting up hill in snowshoes. Go Sheila!Smile, Sheila!Nicole was one of our trailblazers, scouting ahead for markers and places to get through the trees.Such a beautiful day! God's awesomeness is so obvious in these mountains.Down, down the hill we went...There were several sweet little flowers just coming up for the LATE Spring in the mountains this year.
Sophia was getting a closer look at the flowers, too!Oh! What a wonderful sight this LITTLE bridge was! Note the almost vertical slope of snow on the other side... up we went!View from the bridge looking east (I think). The water was rushing from under the snow.Ahh- the end of the trail! The Subaru! Then I looked up and saw this awesome view.
Time for a rest (and some ice on our sore muscles!)
I think we're ready to do it again! Okay, maybe after MUCH more R&R. ;)
