We are now officially a family of four! We welcomed Alia Jyné Lind on March 3, 2011 at 2:52pm- 8 lbs 6 oz, 20 inches long, with a 37 cm diameter head. She is such a blessing and a joy! I did try to have a normal birth this time (c-section with Lori), but after 12 hours of labor things were not progressing, so I went in for an a semi-emergency c-section. The baby was way too large to come out on her own and had a large lump on her head where she was wedged in my pelvis to prove it. I am so thankful that God provided such a wise doctor to care for me, that I was able to stay here in Laramie for the birth, and that He blessed us with another very healthy little girl. We've now had a few days to recover and adjust, and Alia seems to be getting the idea of night and day. My recovery has been quite a bit better than Lori's birth, and we have been home since Saturday. Sam is here at home with me for another week or so, which has been a great help.
Upon their first meeting, Lori wasn't too sure of the baby. Some dear friends were willing and able to watch her for the time we were in the hospital, and at her visits on Friday and Saturday, she wanted to kiss everyone but Alia- when asked if she wanted to kiss the baby she replies, "No, kick." and demonstrated by kicking the air. Relations have improved significantly since we've been home, and she now willingly kisses Alia and loves to help when ever she can.
